Rev Richard Wilde has returned to Kineton as a part time minister in the Methodist Church South Warwickshire Circuit. He has joined the rural ministry team having particular responsibility for Kineton, Fenny Compton and Knightcote Methodist Churches. He is also chaplain at Stratford Livestock Market. Most recently he was superintendent of the Bromsgrove and Redditch Circuit where he served for nine years after a twelve year stint in Blackheath and Halesowen Circuit. Some may remember he came to Kineton from Zimbabwe in 1993 where he served 9 years before being asked to move to Blackheath to be superintendent. Apart from church ministry and community groups involvement he has lead groups on Biblical tours including Israel/Palestine, Turkey and Greece.
His roots are rural having grown up on a farm in Northamptonshire and worked as a fencing and farm contractor before training for ordination at Wesley College, Bristol. Hobbies include classic tractors and traditional farming including hedge laying. He is married to Olive – they have five adult children and seven grandchildren. Richard semi-retired last August and had a sabbatical break before joining the South Warwickshire team.
